SearchMed is located at https://www.searchmed.com. We operate a healthcare provider discovery platform that allows patients to search for and connect with registered healthcare providers across the United States.

Information We Collect

When you use SearchMed, we may collect information you provide directly, such as your name and email address when contacting us. We also collect standard web log data including IP addresses and browser user agent strings. An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to display profile images where applicable.

Cookies

We use cookies to remember your preferences and improve your experience. If you leave a comment on our site, you may opt to save your name, email address, and website in cookies for convenience. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for one year. If you select “Remember Me,” your login persists for two weeks. Cookies for comments persist for one year.

Embedded Content

Pages on this site may include embedded content such as videos or maps. Embedded content from other websites behaves in exactly the same way as if the visitor had visited those websites directly. Those websites may collect data about you, use cookies, and embed additional third-party tracking.

Who We Share Your Data With

SearchMed will never sell your data to a third party and will never track you for advertising purposes. If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset email. Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service. Data is not sold or shared without your prior consent, except as required by U.S. court subpoena.

Data Retention

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely so we can recognize and approve follow-up comments automatically. For registered users, we store the personal information provided in your profile. All users can view, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (usernames cannot be changed). Website administrators can also view and edit that information.

Your Rights

If you have an account on this site or have left comments, you may request an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You may also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Media

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.
